Budget in Crisis: Does Sri Lanka have money to run the country

An online post-budget forum was organised on 2 September 2022 to discuss the interim budget and its consequences. The panel featured Prof. Mick Moore of the International Centre for Tax and Development and the Institute of Development Studies; Shahrukh Wani of the International Growth Centre and Yolani Fernando from Default LK. The discussion was moderated by Madhulika Gunawardena also from Default LK.
The forum focused on the strengths and weaknesses of Sri Lanka’s budget process; the latest budget proposals and projections and their implications for recovery following the economic crisis as well as similar international experiences for comparison. The full video can be accessed here
